Our Services

Intravenous (I.V.) Sedation

Intravenous sedation is an alternative to either local (novacaine) or general (sleep) anesthesia. With this technique patients are given sedative drugs that place them in a semi-sleep or sedated state. While in this state they are given local anesthesia injections so that the surgery can be performed. The patients are monitored during the procedure and it is an extremely safe technique that is often used in those patients that are not candidates for full general anesthesia. Many of our patients receiving intravenous sedation have no memory whatsoever of their surgery even though they actually are not asleep during it.
